We will continue to work together to make our store a better place, with the aim of creating a store that is loved by local customers and will continue to patronize us for many years to come. Thank you for your interest in "Shinmei Market".

【History of SHINMEIGU(Shrine)】
During the Edo period, the Shibata domain considered rice cultivation to be its primary industry. He was actively engaged in river flood control projects and new rice field development. SHINMEIGU was founded in 1661 when the third lord of the Shibata domain prayed to Toyouke no Omikami from ISE JINGU (ISE Grand Shrine). The shrine at that time was located in a different location.
In 1748, when the seventh lord of Shibata was rebuilding the shrines and temples in his territory, he built Shinmei Shrine at its current location to pray for a good harvest and safety.
The current shrine building was a new worship hall built in 1982. The main shrine was completed in 1988.
The hangar on the left side of the shrine building houses the architrave of the SHIMOMACH WA-GUMI, one of the architraves that will be shown at the Shibata Festival.
